Hillside
Teen drama series Hillside (known as Fifteen in the United States) ran on YTV for three seasons from 1991 to 1993, when it premiered. Nickelodeon's lone teen soap opera was John T. Binkley's brainchild, which he also produced. Most daytime dramas are shot on videotape, and this one was no exception. A 13-episode pilot series for The Disney Channel was made and tested in the United States, where the project was first conceived. Nickelodeon and Canadian partners joined Binkley in producing the series, which was known in Canada as Hillside in the first and second seasons and throughout the 65-episode run as Fifteen in the United States when Disney opted not to proceed with the project. The show went on to be syndicated all over the world, including in Germany and Israel, amongst others. Many characters in the show's vast ensemble have changed throughout its four seasons. Laura Harris, Enuka Okuma, and Ryan Reynolds all make appearances.
