The Canadian animated comedy 6teen debuted on Teletoon in 2004. In the United States, the premiere of Sixteen on Nickelodeon occurred on December 18, 2005, and the series was taken off the air on May 13, 2006. 6teen aired on The N in reruns from December 26, 2005 to July 28, 2006, then returned to The N as a 24-hour channel from December 31, 2007 until June 21, 2008. After its launch on October 23, 2008, Cartoon Network aired Sixteen in the United States. Since its premiere on October23,2008, 6teen had numerous weekly airings on Cartoon Network until mid-November2009, when it was taken off the schedule. Then, it resumed with frequent airings in mid-February 2010 and was again taken off the air after the series finale on June21, 2010. Due to a scheduling reorganization, the January 2011 comeback of 6teen for one month only on Cartoon Network was short-lived. It is sometimes broadcast on Popgirl. The series finale, "Bye Bye Nikki, Part 2," featured Brian Melo's acoustic rendition of the theme tune. The series concluded with 93 total episodes. Both the United States and Canada have produced DVD and iTunes editions. Despite the series' conclusion, creators Pertsch and McGillis have expressed openness to a two-hour reunion telemovie or feature film. Currently, it is not on Cartoon Network's schedule, although episodes are accessible via Cartoon Network on Demand in certain regions. On January3,2011, 6teen returned with reruns to Teletoon, where it airs on weekend mornings at 3:00 a.m. EST. It has also recently resumed its former weekday schedule at 7:00 p.m. Also accessible on Netflix streaming in the United States and the United Kingdom.
