Zazie dans le Métro

A precocious and brash ten-year-old comes to Paris for a weekend with her uncle. The viewer and he have more than they bargained for within this comedy from Louis Malle, that rides roughshod across the City of Light. Based on a popular novel by Raymond Queneau that had been contemplated unadaptable, Malle's daring Zazie dans le Métro, made with dash on the cusp of the French New Wave, is actually just a bit of stream of consciousness slap-stick, wall-to-wall with visual gags, editing tricks, and effects.
