When a fissure explosively opens in an English sand apartment throughout a military exercise there, injuring one soldier and murdering an American research scientist at a nearby nuclear plant joins with a British investigator to detect the victims were radioactively burnt and , shortly thereafter, a series of radiation-related events are occurring in an ever-growing direct line away from the fissure.
