The Watermelon Woman

Cheryl, a young black lesbian, works at a video store during the day while trying to make a film about a black actress from the 1930s who was famous for portraying traditional "mammy" parts that were relegated to black actresses at the time. This was the first feature picture directed by a black lesbian who was open about her sexual orientation.
