The Watcher Self
The Watcher Self is a disturbing psychosexual chiller written and directed by Matt Cruse about a woman's slide into hell. Cora (Karen French) wakes up in the middle of the night dealing with the ramifications of a nightmare. As she struggles to maintain a normal schedule, she engages in a series of emotionally disconnected interactions and develops a perplexing psychological connection with the weird and elusive Van, who appears to be watching her (Julian Shaw). As a result, Cora's fragile state of mind is threatened by echoes from her past, and she begins to feel increasingly disconnected from her environment. Is she losing her mind, or is it something else entirely? This novel is about what remains after the layers of sanity are gradually taken away... and what may or may not be true in the process.
