Surge
SURGE is a feature-length documentary about the unprecedented number of first-time female candidates who ran for office, won, and upended politics during the historic 2018 midterm elections. SURGE follows three candidates in Texas, Indiana, and Illinois as they attempt to turn their red districts blue, including Lauren Underwood, the youngest black woman ever elected to Congress. Lauren is a qualified nurse and public health expert who is currently working for COVID-19 relief as a freshman representative.
