Space Battleship Yamato

Five years following the Gamilons began an invasion of Earth, the planet has been contested by the aliens' bombs. The remnants of humanity have fled underground to flee the surface. One day, a capsule sent from the planet Iscandar that tells is discovered by former pilot Susumu Kodai. The Earth Defense Force rebuilds the battleship Yamato using a form of propulsion system to make the 148,000 light year visit assured of rescuing the planet earth to Iscandar. Within a year, the radiation will induce the remainder of humanity.
