Ixcanul

María, a 17-year-old Kaqchikel Maya, deals with her parents on a coffee hacienda at the foot of an energetic volcano. She is readied to be wed to the ranch's foreman. But María longs to discover the globe beyond of the hill, a location she can not even picture. And so she seduces a coffee-harvester that wishes to run away to the U.S.A.. When this guy leaves her behind, Marían uncovers her own world and also culture over again.
