Forbidden Love: The Unashamed Stories of Lesbian Lives
Ten Canadian women discuss what it was like to be lesbian in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, including learning about the pulp fiction of the time about women in love, having their own first relationships, dealing with breakups, frequenting gay bars, facing police raids, men's reactions, and the proper behavior for butch and femme roles. The interviews and archival material are interspersed with four dramatic chapters from the pulp book "Forbidden Love."
