Dolls
Dolls takes puppeteering because of its predominant motif the kind practiced in Bunraku doll theatre performances -- launching each section of the picture with a story which relates to the actions offered by the live characters. Chief among those stories is the story of Matsumoto (Hidetoshi Nishijima) and Sawako (Miho Kanno), a couple whose relationship is all about to be divided apart from the former parents, that have insisted that their child get involved in an arranged marriage to his boss' daughter. He initially agrees, evoking the Sawako to be devoted to a psychiatric hospital. If he leaves his bride at the altar to rescue Sawako, but he realizes she is therefore not capable of caring for herself she needs to be tied with a red rope to him. Inextricably bound, the two drift falling the others across the way who've missed love for more pleasures: fame, power.
