Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry
Ai Wei Wei is famous for several things -- amazing structure, subversive art, and activism. He has also called for increased transparency on the part of the state. Director Alison Klayman summarizes the intricacies of Ai's lifetime for three decades, beginning with his rise to prominence via Twitter and blog after he contested the deaths of more than 5,000 students in the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. The album continues through his widely publicized arrest in Beijing in April of 2011. His activism warms up as Ai prepares pieces of art for international displays, along with his run-ins with China's police are more and more ordinary.
