Van Gogh
Vincent moves to Auvers-sur-Oise, near Paris, in the late spring of 1890, under the care of Dr. Gachet, residing in a modest inn. Less than seventy days later, Vincent commits suicide by shooting himself. We observe Vincent painting landscapes and portraits at his studio. Auvers is visited by his brother Theo, his wife Johanna, and their child. Vincent is pleasant and lively, attracting the interest of Gachet's daughter Marguerite (who is half his age), a young inn maid, a Parisian prostitute named Cathy, and Johanna. Vincent visits Paris shortly before his death, where he quarrels with Theo, disparages his own art and accomplishments, dances at a brothel, and is alternately warm and cold toward Marguerite.
