The Island of Cats
Daikichi is a 70-year-old guy who resides on a small island in the Pacific Ocean. He has been cohabiting with his cat Tama after the death of his wife. Daikichi was born and reared on the little island and spends his free time with his childhood buddies Iwao and Tama. Tsuyoshi, Daikichi's son, is a Tokyo resident. Tsuyoshi is concerned about his father's isolation on the island, while Daikichi is satisfied with his lot in life. Following the death of a close friend, Daikichi becomes concerned about his physical state. His daily life undergoes a transformation. Based on the "Neko to Jiichan" manga series.
