Moll Flanders
Moll, the daughter of a thief, is left in the care of a nunnery following her mother's execution. However, as a teenager, Moll rebels against an abusive priest, fleeing to the hazardous streets of London. Further setbacks force her to accept a prostitute job from the devious Mrs. Allworthy. It is there that Moll first meets Hibble, who works as Allworthy's servant but is genuinely concerned about the young woman's well-being. She preserves hope for the future with his assistance, eventually falling in love with an unorthodox artist who provides the chance of romantic satisfaction.
