Max and the Junkmen
Max is a detective in Paris who is haughty, independently wealthy, and annoyed by his inability to capture gangs of criminals. To regain his reputation and preserve his dignity, he decides to convince a group of small thieves (headed by an old acquaintance) to heist a bank. A reluctant captain gives Max with intelligence, and Max begins spending evenings with Lilly, the group's leader's lover and a prostitute. He poses as a wealthy banker and pushes Lilly to consider her future while posing as a wealthy banker. He alludes to a paycheck that passes through his bank. The plan succeeds, the petty thieves believe they are prepared for a large score, and the police are in position. What could possibly go wrong with Max's plan? Who is the victim?
