Changing Landscapes
This book is very sophisticated and well-written. It talks about how the landscape around Paris changed in the early 1960s, and it's very well done. What does it mean to live in a modern world? How do you feel about things like canals, pylon, and abandoned factories? These questions are raised in the film. This isn't all Rohmer talks about. He also talks about landscapes in different styles of modern art and design and names specific architects, artists, and engineers.
