The King

Tae-su, born into a poor household, learns that power is the most important aspect of life and intends to become a prosecutor, the most prominent emblem of authority in the 1990s. After enrolling in the most renowned law school and encountering democratic resistance in Korea, Tae-su achieves his ambition of becoming a prosecutor, but his life is no better than that of a salaryman. He inadvertently becomes a member of a group of wealthy and influential prosecutors. He finally gets a taste of a life at the top of the hierarchy, but as he savors the richness of power, he also observes its vicious side.
